Here's a souvenir that managed to survive over 60 years of storage and moving.

Penguin Souvenir from Admiral Byrds's Penguin Island
The little penguin, just slightly taller than a penny, was hand painted (or inked) by a vendor at the Fair with my grand-father's nickname for my mother; "Gus" It was purchased at Admiral Byrds' Penguin Island in the Amusement Zone.

The inscription reads:
"Little Gus Karsten 1939 N.Y. Worlds Fair"
