This 50,000 square foot area was America's way of showing the world Freedom of Religion for then and for the future. No religious services were held, nor were the building or grounds consecrated.

An auditorium that seated 1,200 allowed groups, under church guidance, to present programs that expressed the value of spiritual things.

The words above the entrance read:
FOR ALL WHO WORSHIP GOD AND PRIZE RELIGIOUS FREEDOM
