Built in England for the Delaware & Hudson, it was transported to Honesdale, New York. On August 8, 1829, the Stourbridge Lion, driven by Horatio Allen, made its first run. But, alas, the Lion was too heavy and wound up on the side of the tracks where it was used as a boiler.
